Yes, that's very irritating. But all these "surveys" and lists that circulate in the internet have no empirical basis and give just random results. But, of course they signify trends, and it's no accident that authors such as Byatt, Spark, or Lessing are not on top of the list.

I wonder what age groups those respondents/voters were? 12-year-olds?
Possibly - it's crazy of course, but it irritates me when this sort of stuff is reported even semi-seriously.
